Gloucester Cathedral Artist-in-Residence

Applications are invited from artists of all disciplines for this post which will run from June 2009 for one year. The appointment will take in all the events in the Cathedral calendar during the year and will therefore be involved with interpreting the life of the Cathedral within the context of the visual arts. You will possess a BA and MA in Fine Art, or related area, and have substantial experience of exhibiting, research and working with the community; as well as a range of technical skills in your subject. You will also possess sufficient experience to deal with the public, interact sensitively with the Cathedral communityand work with the University students and schools etc.

FREE Sing Up! Training, Gloucester

Gloucestershire Music Service has helped support some FREE training for people working with children (ages 5-11), who would like to develop their skills and confidence in leding singing sessions.
The FREE training will be held on Tuesday 10th February, 10am - 4.30pm at Gloucester Guildhall. Training will be run by Liz Terry, Em Whitfield Brookes, Dave Camlin and the choral group, Ex Cathedra.

FREE Training for Creative People in Gloucestershire - Flash and Final Cut Pro



New Courses from the GMG
The GMG have just announced that they will be running two new, FREE courses. These are up-skilling sessions with quality tuition from industry professionals, at the high standard you have come to expect from GMG courses.
We can offer this to you for FREE through European funding especially for creative people in Gloucestershire (thank you ESF and Learning Skills Council). To make it all as convenient and accessible as possible for all you busy creative types, the courses will be offered over four 3-hour evenings between mid February and April 2009.
Course 1: 2D Animation Embedding flash animation into a variety of different interactive media. Using Adobe Photoshop and In Design software packages, to produce 2D animations.
Course 2: Post Production Develop skills across the whole of the Final Cut Pro Suite. This involves audio work using Sound Track Pro, graphics in Motion and titling in Live Type, as well as Video editing.
Using a combination of hands-on activities, you will have a chance to focus on specific areas or develop skills across the range. ONLY 10 places available on each course (to make it really focused on your needs).
